I am a PROUD mother, dog-mom, and US Navy Veteran. I love spending time with my family, camping, and cooking! In my spare time, I also enjoy supporting my Veteran community and participating in their various organizations and activities around the state of Texas. I began my clinical career working with a foster care agency, providing therapy and crisis intervention. I would later work at a private practice where I worked heavily with Veterans who suffered from PTSD and depression. My years of experience in trauma work with adolescents and adults has given me a passion to help people heal from the trauma they've experienced. I believe in the effectiveness of a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is for all of my clients to walk in, sit in the chair across from me, and feel as if this is a safe space that promotes healing.
I rely heavily on the efficacy of EMDR when I work with clients processing unresolved trauma. I am passionate about the healing journey for my fellow Veterans, other adults, and adolescents and truly believe in the process.
"It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." -Aristotle
Individual therapy that meets the needs of both adults and adolescents. Some of the issues I work with frequently are depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients to understand what their issues are, how they are effecting the client, and what treatment would be most effective. Meeting the client exactly where they are, even in their darkest hour, is critical to building a trusting, healing, therapeutic relationship.
There are several words that always get a smile from my clients when I use them, because they know the passion I have behind them. Empower, educate, and affect or some of those words. Sometimes people are going through a difficult time, and they hear something that resonates with them and find it empowering. Often, educating someone on the presentation of depression, anxiety, self, harm, or PTSD can help them understand themselves better and decide if it may be time to seek help. Public speaking can provide that education and empowerment to people. It can also help a person affect change in their own lives. Please contact me for questions regarding rates and proposals. Please ask for special rates for Military/Veteran organizations and first responder groups.
Groups run 10 weeks and are announced six weeks prior to group start date. Upcoming groups for 2023-2024 will cover the issues of self-harm, social anxiety, and conflict resolution. Groups are designed to be inclusive and present a safe space for participants to work through issues collaboratively with peers who are also struggling. Connection and validation can be a gateway to healing when used in a group setting. Stay tuned for group dates on the website!
